Navigation Interface

Perspectives

Perspectives allow you to define the context of your navigation. Above "Simple Gameplay" and "AdvancedColours" are selected. By clicking them they are removed. By clicking an Available Perspective, it will be added to the list of Current Perspectives.
Adding a perspective should be the first step in navigation.

Include/Remove

Include and Remove panels allow you to add or remove attributes from the current concept.

Above, "Red" and "Environment" are able to be removed.

Below, "Orangered", "Maroon" and "Brown", or "Coral" can be included.

Current Concept

Below shows the current concept. Attributes are listed followed by the extent size. Objects, shown as thumbnails, are displayed below this. Each object can be click on to focus on that object.

Search

Searching can be done by adding and removing attributes to/from the search box. Only attributes in the current perspectives will appear. The '+' button adds from the dropdown list, the '-' button removes from the search list. Clicking search will find the concept matching the attrbiutes.

Object Focus and Query-by-Example

Clicking on an object shows the object at full/larger size, with its attributes. The QBE link will perform a Query-by-Example request using this object.
Query-by-example on this object, in this context, gives the following :

Empty Extent Result

The following will be displayed if the empty extent concept is the result of a search :
This allows you to choose varying traversal widths. It is recommended that 'Normal' will be sufficient. 'Complete' will traverse the entire lattice structure and is NOT RECOMMENDED unless the current perspective size is small.

Notes:

Attributes in Bold are part of an attribute hierachy and are not leaf attributes of the hierachy. This only occurs on attribute hierachies that come from input data structure, and does not occur on data-driven attribute heirachies.
